WHO PARTICIPATES IN THE KIVAQ WORKSHOPS?
The KivaQ workshops are usually executed at the team level. A team can be, for instance, the personnel in a daycare unit, a hospital ward, the ICT department, the executive committee in a large organization or the entire personnel in a small organization. The KivaQ-workshop should involve as many people as possible, and preferably the entire working team including the manager/managers. A common team consists of 6-35 people. The development workshops are private, only one team participates in one workshop.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A WORKSHOP?
In a KivaQ workshop, the participants focus specifically on developing their own work wellbeing, which guarantees that every individual is interested and engaged. The objective of the KivaQ workshop is to create a genuine dialogue among the participants and reach a consensus and willingness to develop the work wellbeing of the entire work community. TheKivaQ method’s engaging way of working and joint prioritizing prevent the possible resistance against change when implementing the agreed actions.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A WORKSHOP?
After the KivaQ workshop, the team implements the agreed practical solutions. After that (usually 3-6 months) work wellbeing is again evaluated using the KivaQ W questionnaire. The team, together with the facilitator, will check that the agreed actions have been implemented. The KivaQ follow-up session takes about 4 hours. During the follow-up session, the team also plans concrete actions for the development area, that scored the second most points in the prioritizing stage during the KivaQ workshop. In this manner continuity in the developing process is created and the team ensures that they do not try to develop everything too quickly. Usually, the team has 3 follow-ups and the whole process lasts for 1-1,5 years.
